The Backfire strike drone, developed by Ukrainian engineers, is in the final stage before serial production, after showing impressive results in combat conditions on the front line. This news was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov through his channel in Telegram, pointing to high stability “Backfire” for enemy electronic warfare (EW) and its readiness for large-scale production.
“This “bird” has successfully passed all the necessary tests of the Ministry of Defense and is now waiting for an official order for admission to operation. This opens the door for the state to purchase these drones on a large scale. The team behind the development of the UAV is already preparing to start serial production.” , – reports Fedorov.
The developers of the drone work closely with the “Birds of Fury” unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which specializes in the application of attack and reconnaissance UAVs, providing important data for further improvement of the drone.
The Backfire UAV is part of the Brave1 defense cluster and is capable of penetrating up to 35 kilometers behind enemy lines, striking enemy artillery positions, logistics nodes, warehouses, and command posts. Its special GPS antenna is almost invulnerable to enemy EW, and complete autonomy makes it impossible to determine the coordinates of the drone and its operators, ensuring a high level of safety during missions.
Support in the development and implementation of “Backfire” is provided by the “Hero of Ukraine” Charitable Fund, which is engaged in financing innovative projects in the field of defense. The foundation plays a key role in providing the necessary resources to support military technology and protect the country.
Recently published data show that thanks to the use of drones, including the “Backfire”, the Ukrainian military destroyed a significant amount of enemy equipment, demonstrating the effectiveness of these technologies in a modern combat environment.
“Backfire” and other similar developments are becoming decisive in Ukraine’s struggle for its freedom and independence, demonstrating the importance of innovation and advanced technologies in the military sphere.
